Who likes Honey Mustard Salad Dressing?
It was my favorite growing up, and after turning my affections towards Italian and Ranch for most of my adult life, I recently rediscovered my affinity for Honey Mustard.
Lightened Up
And today's version? So. Good.
It's sweet and tangy, and it boasts a secret ingredient to make it simultaneously creamy and lighter in calories and fat:
Greek yogurt instead of mayo!
AKA, only one of the best recipe swaps ever. Am I right?
When it comes to the plain Greek yogurt in this recipe, you may use full-fat/whole milk, low-fat, or even fat-free. Any of them will work in this recipe, so go with your preference.
Reasons to Make Homemade Honey Mustard Dressing
What's nice about this dressing -- aside from the flavor, and aside from the fact that it takes mere minutes to whip up -- is that it's all-natural!
You never know what questionable additives may be concealed in a bottled, store-bought salad dressing...but when you make it homemade, you get to control the ingredients yourself!
Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
And what's even more exciting (at least as far as salad dressing excitement can go) is that this Lightened-Up Honey Mustard Dressing can moonlight as a Lightened-Up Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce!
Do your kids like chicken nuggets? Are you a fan of grilled chicken strips? How about cheeseburger sliders, fried mozzarella sticks, or French fries? Pour this Honey Mustard deliciousness in a bowl and the possibilities are endless.
(Alternatively, for a thicker dipping sauce with just a handful of ingredients, you could give my Healthy Honey Mustard a try instead!) 😉
So what's your favorite type of dressing?
Has that answer changed over the years?
Whether you're a longtime enthusiast or merely looking to expand your salad dressing/dipping sauce horizons, I hope you love this Lightened-Up Honey Mustard Dressing!

what are the ingredients of the salad displayed wit honey mustard dressing but not mentioned? Looked delicious!
Thank you!!
Hi Libby! The salad pictured in this post includes romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, and sliced almonds (I recommend toasting). 🙂
I have made this multiple times, sometimes exactly as your recipe calls for. Other times I substitute lime juice for the cider vinegar. If I don’t have Dijon mustard I use prepared yellow mustard. It always turns out very tasty. Thanks!
I've been using this recipe for the last year. It's delicious and I like it so much better than another Honey Mustard dressing that I tried. Thank you for this light version.
Really good but a bit too sweet for me. Maybe I would add less honey.
You can definitely tweak the ratios to your liking! 🙂
I’m in love with this dressing! Thank You for this amazing recipe!
Can you use just olive oil instead of extra virgin olive oil? Thanks!
Sure! The flavor of the olive oil just might come through a little stronger.
I tried this recipe, and I liked it. It was sooooo good.
Happy to hear you enjoyed it, Yvonne!
Hi Samantha, how long does this dressing keep in the fridge?
thanks!
Hi Brenna! This dressing should keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Hope you enjoy!
Great recipe! I didn't have Dijon mustard so I used regular prepared mustard and it was great! Thanks so much! !
Sounds like a winner to me! Pinned to make soon...thanks so much, Sam..and have a great weekend! 🙂
Hope you enjoy it, Deb! Thanks for the pin, and hope you have a fabulous weekend as well! 🙂
This is so much better than the full of calories stuff! I sometimes feel as if honey mustard dressing is too heavy, so I love this version of it.
Thanks, Joanna...this version of honey mustard is definitely nice and light. 🙂
